Saudi Arabia’s merchandise exports rose 6.4% in Q4 2022: GASTAT
Saudi Arabia:
Saudi Arabia’s overall merchandise exports
increased by 6.4 percent in the fourth quarter of 2022 to SR342.4 billion
($91.24 billion), compared to the same period in 2021, according to the latest
data released by the General Authority for Statistics.
The GASTAT data suggested that this rise in
overall merchandise exports was driven by a surge in oil exports, which rose by
SR31.7 billion or 13.2 percent in the same period, compared to the fourth
quarter of 2021.
According to the report, the share of oil exports
in total exports increased to 79.2 percent in the fourth quarter of 2022 from
74.4 percent in the same period of the previous year.
However, compared to the third quarter of 2022,
total merchandise exports decreased by SR57.9 billion or 14.5 percent in the
fourth quarter.
